Edgy Actions
Edgy lets you assign actions to the
edges of the screen or to buttons. Many actions are available to be assigned to the edges
or buttons of your
choice. Actions are divided into these categories:
Screen Saver Actions
Turn on the screen saver
Instantly activate your screen saver with a touch of the mouse. Move your
mouse away from your selected screen corner or side and the screen
saver goes back off. Works with or without password protection.
Disable the screen saver while the mouse is in the selected position
Sometimes you don't want your screen saver to start automatically. For
example, you may be viewing a slide show, watching a movie, or writing a
DVD. This action will prevent your screen saver from starting as long as the
mouse is in the selected position.
Disable the screen saver until it is re-enabled
Sometimes you don't want your screen saver to start automatically, but
you may still need to be able to use your mouse from time to time. This
action will disable your screen saver from starting until you re-enable it
later using the Enable screen saver
action.
Re-enable the screen saver
This action enables your screen saver after you have disabled it with the
Disable the screen saver until it is re-enabled action.
Power Actions
Turn off the monitor
Instantly turn off your screen with a touch of your mouse. Move the mouse
away from your selected screen region and the screen comes back on.
Put the
monitor in low-power mode
Save power by putting your screen in low-power mode with a touch of your
mouse. Move the mouse away from your selected screen region and the screen
comes back to full power.
Hibernate
Touching the selected edge of the screen puts your computer in
hibernation mode. You can exit from hibernation using the normal techniques
such as pressing a key on the keyboard.
Suspend
This action puts your computer in suspend mode. You can exit from
suspension using the normal techniques such as pressing a key on the
keyboard.
Lock
computer
This action locks the workstation.
Log
off
This action closes running programs and logs off the current user.
Switch
user
This action leaves running programs unchanged and logs off the current user.
Shutdown
This action closes running programs and shuts down the computer.
Restart
This action closes running programs and restarts the computer.
Show Desktop Actions
Show the desktop while the mouse is in the selected position
All windows will be minimized to the task bar when you place your mouse
at the selected screen edge, allowing you to view your desktop and icons.
When you move your mouse away from the edge, all of the windows are restored
to their former positions.

– Toggle
All windows will be minimized to the task bar the first time you place your mouse
at the selected screen edge, allowing you to access your desktop and icons.
The next time you place your mouse in position, all of the minimized windows
will be restored to their former positions. The action alternates back and
forth between show desktop and hide desktop.

Peeking through a Web browser window
Peek Actions
Peek at the desktop while the mouse is in the selected position
This action will make all open windows translucent so that you can see
through them to the windows underneath and the desktop. You can
customize
the amount of transparency from 1% to 99%. When you move your mouse away
from the selected screen edge, the windows are returned to an opaque
appearance.
Peek at the desktop until it is re-enabled
This action will set all open windows to a
customizable translucency so
that you can see through them to the windows underneath and the desktop. The
windows will remain translucent until you reset them with the
Re-enable the
desktop after peek desktop action.
Re-enable the desktop after peek desktop
Moving your mouse to the selected screen edge returns all windows to an
opaque appearance after they have been made translucent using the
Peek at
the desktop until it is re-enabled action.
Peek
through a window while the mouse is in the selected position
This action will make the active window translucent so that you can see
through it to the windows underneath. You can

from the selected screen edge, the window is returned to an opaque
appearance.

Minimize / Maximize Actions
Minimize the active window
while the mouse is in the selected position
When you move your mouse to the selected region, the currently active
window is minimized to the task bar. When you move your mouse away from the
selected region, the window is restored to its former position.

When you move your mouse to the selected region, the currently active
window is minimized to the task bar. The window remains minimized until you
restore it.
Maximize the active window while the mouse is in the selected
position
This action maximizes or zooms the active window to full-screen when you
move the mouse to the selected screen edge. When you move the mouse away
from the screen edge, the window is restored to its former position. Nothing
will happen if the active window is already maximized or if it's not a
resizable window.
Maximize the active window until it is restored
This action maximizes the active window when you move the mouse to the
selected screen edge. The window will remain maximized until you restore,
minimize, or close it. Nothing will happen if the active window is already
maximized or if it's not a resizable window.
Restore the active window
This action restores the active window that you maximized using the
"Maximize the active window until it is restored" command to its former
position.
Minimize all windows
This action minimizes all open windows to the task bar while your mouse
is in the selected region. When you move your mouse away, the windows are
all restored to their previous positions.
Minimize all windows until they are restored
This action minimizes all open windows to the task bar when you move your
mouse to the selected region. The windows will remain minimized until you
restore or close them.
Maximize all windows
This action maximizes (zooms) all open and resizable windows to full
screen while your mouse is in the selected region. When you move your mouse
away, the windows are all restored to their previous positions.
Maximize all windows until they are restored
This action minimizes all open windows to the task bar when you move your
mouse to the selected region. The windows will remain minimized until you
restore or close them.
Restore all maximized windows
This action restores all window that you maximized using the
Maximize
all windows until they are restored command to their former positions.
Window Arrangement Actions
Cascade all windows
This action lets you instantly arrange all windows on your desktop in an
overlapping layout so that you can view all the titles of all of your open
windows. This is very convenient when you have a lot of windows open at the
same time and you want to get a quick overview of everything that's on your
screen. Once you have cascaded all of your open windows, you can easily find
and click on the ones you need.
Tile all windows in a horizontal layout
This action arranges your open windows in a non-overlapping pattern to
fill the screen. If there is more than one way to tile the windows, they
will be tiled in a way that favors horizontal (short and wide) windows. For
example, if you have two active windows, they will be stacked. One of them
will occupy the upper half of the screen, and the other will occupy the
lower half.
Tile all windows in a vertical layout
This action arranges your open windows in a non-overlapping pattern to
fill the screen. If there is more than one way to tile the windows, they
will be tiled in a way that favors vertical (tall and narrow) windows. For
example, if you have two active windows, they will be arranged side by side.
One of them will occupy the left side of the screen, and the other will
occupy the right side.

Positions the active window to fill the left side of the screen. By
assigning this action to the left side of the screen, you can drag a window
to the left side of the screen or simply move the mouse to the left side of
the screen to perform this action.
Tile the
active window on the right side of the screen
Positions the active window to fill the right side of the screen. You can
drag a window or simply move the mouse to the selected edge of the screen to
perform this action.
Tile the
active window on the top half of the screen
This action positions the active window to fill the upper half of the
screen. You can then tile another window on the lower half of the screen and
view them both at the same time.
Tile the
active window on the bottom half of the screen
This action positions the active window to fill the lower half of the
screen.
Tile
the top 2 active windows in a horizontal layout
This action arranges the two top windows on your screen so that they
evenly take up one-half of the screen each. The windows are arranged in a
horizontal layout with one above the other.
Tile
the top 2 active windows in a vertical layout
This action arranges the two top windows on your screen so that they
evenly take up one-half of the screen each. The windows are arranged in a
vertical layout with one beside the other.
Window Grow and Shrink Actions
Make the
active window nearly large enough to fill the screen
This action makes the current window slightly smaller than the entire
screen, so that it is large but still leaves a small margin around the
window borders so that you can see the edges of the desktop.

size of a window by a customizable amount.
These actions will repeat continuously at an adjustable rate as long as you keep the mouse in the
assigned position.

Move Window Actions

assigned position.
Web Browser Actions
Next
page
This action navigates forward to the next page in your browsing history.
Previous
page
This action navigates back to the prior page in your browsing history.
Next
tab
This action switches to the next tab in your Web browser if more than one
tab is open.
Previous
tab
This action switches to the prior tab in your Web browser if more than
one tab is open.
Close
tab
This action closes the current tab (page) in your Web browser.
Refresh
This action reloads the latest version of the current Web page.
Scroll
up
This action scrolls the Web page up (towards the end of the document) by
about one line.
Scroll
down
This action scrolls the Web page down (towards the beginning of the
document) by about one line.
Scroll
page up
This action scrolls the Web page up (towards the end of the document) by
about one page.
Scroll
page down
This action scrolls the Web page down (towards the beginning of the
document) by about one page.
Full
screen momentary
This action puts the Web browser in full screen mode while the mouse is
in the selected position.
Full
screen toggle
This action switches the Web browser back and forth between full screen
and normal (partial screen) mode.
Full
screen momentary (Chrome)
This action puts the Google Chrome Web browser in full screen mode while
the mouse is in the selected position.
Full
screen toggle (Chrome)
This action switches the Google Chrome Web browser back and forth between
full screen and normal (partial screen) mode.
Zoom
in
This action zooms in and makes the text and images on the page larger and
easier to read.
Zoom
out
This action zooms out and makes the text and images smaller so that more
material fits on the screen.
Home
This action sends the Web browser to your home page.
Add
to favorites
This action adds the current Web page to your favorites list.
Clipboard Actions
Cut
This action cuts (moves) the selected text, item, or object to the
clipboard.
Copy
This action copies the selected text, item, or object to the clipboard.
Paste
This action pastes (copies) the current text, item, or object from the
clipboard.
Copy
screen to clipboard
This action places an image of the entire screen on the clipboard.
Copy
window to clipboard
This action places an image of the current window on the clipboard.
Wallpaper Actions
Cycle
wallpaper
This action instantly opens and activates the Edgy window on the most
recently used page, allowing you to quickly adjust settings.
Random
wallpaper
This action instantly opens and activates the Edgy window on the most
recently used page, allowing you to quickly adjust settings.
Toggle
wallpaper
This action instantly opens and activates the Edgy window on the most
recently used page, allowing you to quickly adjust settings.
Miscellaneous Actions
Close the current window
This action closes the current window. If there is an unsaved file open
in a program, you will be prompted to save it before closing.
Save the current document
Moving the mouse to the selected screen edge will save the current file
(document, spreadsheet, etc.) in the currently active program.
Sound volume
Runs the Sound volume program, where you can adjust or mute the sound
volume
Open the Edgy settings window
This action instantly opens and activates the Edgy window on the most
recently used page, allowing you to quickly adjust settings.
